You can swap the Mail Database in use by moving it into the Emailer Files
folder where the current Mail Database is. Make sure you do the correct
Database/Index pair and don't start crossing them or you will be in for a
heap of problems.

But to be very honest with you... unless you already know of some mail
that you can't find, I would just compress (stuffit) the old mail
database and mail index and stick them on a backup disk. I would NOT
start swapping databases and indexes. It can be a very touchy process and
can very quickly render you in a situation where you can't figure out
what is the current and correct one, and can result in some badly screwed
up databases.

So unless you already are looking for some missing email, then just
accept the fact that if you don't know what's in there, then you don't
need it. Stuff them, put them on a backup disk, and get them the heck off
your hard drive. That way, some day in the future, if you do think of an
email that you desperately need, but can't locate it, then you can pull
out the backups and do the very careful process of switching them around
to look and see if its there.

Basically its the old adage of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
