Don't know what is doing it.

Might be a temporary thing (you are the 3rd person today to see that?)

Complaining to AOL will accomplish nothing but cause you to be annoyed. 
As far as AOL support is concerned, the AOL client is the only way to get 
email from AOL. You can try to talk to them all you want about Emailer, 
they will insist that there are no 3rd party programs that can access AOL 
email. You can even point them to their own web site where they state 
that Emailer can access their email... and they will STILL insist that 
such a thing doesn't exist.

In other words... if you call AOL on it, they will tell you that no 
problem exists, because what you are doing can't be done, so how can 
something that doesn't exist be broken?

In all honesty, I suspect that the AOL/Emailer gateway is much like this 
list... running because someone forgot to turn it off when they left, and 
no one else knows its there or what it does.
