Notice that this means the new disk or volume has to have the same name too for the paths to be identical. This is usually a problem when moving emailer's databases: most of the time you don't want to replicate the same folder structure and volumes names. A (tedious) solution to this would be to: -1- temporarily replicate the disk and folder structure and copy the data to it, then unmount the original disk (important) -2- launch emailer from the newly made copy and "touch" each attachment once (not necessarily opening them, just showing the related message windows should display their paths and update the alias, maybe you would need to "reveal" each file from there too) -3- then set the disk and folder structure and names to whatever you want: the alias links that were updated in step 2 now point to the file ID of attachments on the new disk, so they won't break any more if their path change Since doing step 2 manually would take forever this is a job for a script, but nobody wrote it and I gave up on the idea when I realized I forgot the various paths I used before anyway.
