export/import addressbook

I suppose this question has arisen quite frequently, but I have now 
spent about 10 hours with no success. I am trying to get my addressbook 
from emailer to MAIL or Entourage in OSX. MAIL successfully imported my 
messages but the addressbook doesn't work. I have also tried a 
workaround via Outlook Express. I also have all my addresses in OE/OS9 
now but this also hasn't helped in setting the final step to 
transferring these to an OSX email-functionality. Any suggestions?
