I think people live like that because they are simply ignorant that there
is an option and that the option may be better.

I can't tell you how often I talk to PC users who bitch that the web is
too full of popup windows. Heck, ISPs now offer "popup blocker" services.
I tell them to simply NOT use Internet Explorer, as just about every
other browser available has a preference choice to stop popup windows.
They give me a blank look (very much like the confused dog look you get
if you ask a question at Radio Shack), and say "What do you mean use
another browser... what would I use if not IE".

These same people bitch about virus problems and ask how to stop them. I
tell them to not use Outlook or Outlook Express for email. I get the same
blank look followed by "What do you mean don't use Outlook, how would I
check my email".

I would love to blame MS for this, but I think rather it is just a
symptom of society (at least in the USA) and how people just don't care
to know anything that isn't spoon fed to them.

>Of course I've tried to be fair and at least consider the possibility
>that if I had started out on a PC and was used to it, it wouldn't seem so
>bad, but I don't want to put in the time to see if I can adjust.

Let me tell you, I use a PC right along side with my Mac, every day, all
day. Its been that way as long as I can remember (well, maybe not that
long, but at least back into the mid eighties... I started supporting PCs
just before my farewell to the Apple II, which occurred in 1987/88 I
think about a year after I bought my SE to upgrade my sagging 128 which I
had since summer of 1984 (which was an experimental side grade to my
Apple II that dated from 1977)).

So I'd like to think I have a fair bit of experience with the PC, and in
particular windows (which I started toying with at version 3.11, and then
full time at Win95). And with all this time to "get used to it", I can
still tell you... WINDOWS SUCKS!!!
