My guess is your ISP has changed the number of addresses an email may use in one sending.
This assumes you were sending successfully to your list through this ISP, before. If it is a new ISP then you've hit their limit.
ISP's used to be unlimited. AOL began using an undisclosed limit (100) in last half of the 90's. Others followed with limits stated, though not enforced, of 50 to 100. Now they are enforcing the limits and lowering the number. Most have something in the FAQ that says "Q-- Occasionally I send one email to a large list. Will XXXX handle that? A -- Sorry, XXXX is an individual service not designed to allow more than 25 addresses per email."
Emailer is limited to 250 address within a group and sends an email addressed to that many in groups of 50. Thus, Emailer can send the same email to 250 addresses, as it appears to you, but to the ISP it is sending 5 emails, each with 50 addresses, and that works for some.
As ISP's lower their limit below 50, or below the number in your list, they are not allowed by the ISP.

Subject: Re: Emailer: Network Stream Error
Is anyone experiencing this type of error? I've been getting it a lot
lately when sending to my (non-spam) mailing list. This happens nowdays
whether I send to 35 or 135 people.
** 550 5.0.0 Too many recipients
** Couldn't complete the last command because a network stream
error occurred.
Well... if I had to take a guess, I'd say there were "Too many
recipients" on the email you were sending. Try sending the email with
fewer recipients.
