Today I decided to rebuild the database because CE seemed to be slowing down on me. Having started the rebuild and gone off to do something else, I had a look at the 'Mail' folder to see what was now in there. For the first time even, I see two files named: 'Mail Index (Incomplete)' and 'Mail DB (Incomplete)' and both files are significantly smaller than the old (previously rebuilt and renamed) or new database files: about half the size.
I presume this means the rebuild never completed because the incomplete files are dated as being created and modified today while the database being used is created the day I last rebuilt and is modified today. Any suggestion as to how to avoid this incomplete rebuild. Should I try again? What else does anyone suggest because everything seems to be running fine? Is this just an oddity or has anyone seem this before. There was no error message during the rebuild.
