Greetings
We are speaking of two different things, both limits within Emailer.
I have tested for both and reported the 250 limit to the list in the
fall of 2003.
1,000 limit for addresses within an address book group. That is both
tested and in the help files. I ran into it when I used a Fog City
script to set emailer to put mail with addresses in my address book
into the standard "in" box and addresses outside my address book into
my "Possible Spam" box. The script called for an address group called
"my addresses" and mine maxed at 1,000.
250 limit is the most addresses an individual Emailer email can
handle. I tested for that similarly, just building lists that would
not go, then reducing down to 250 and they worked, but would not at 251.
I'm using Mail in Jaguar which does not have the 1,000 limit. Though
I do not like Mail <it's major weakness v Emailer is (1) poor searching
(2) poor folder management (3) fair address book (4) poor offline
capability>, I am using it rather than Emailer because I can put 1,100
names into on address group. To send the same email to 1,100 names in
Mail I have to do 6 emails, though, because my ISP (Alltel, a DSL)
allows only 200 addresses for any one email. If the ISP did not limit
emails then Mail would probably do the 1,100 in one mail, though I've
not had a way to test that.
