Doug,  I  don't  understand  "granddaughters  Imac  with  its capacity
memory". You  have omitted  the actual memory  size.  I would question
whether it's enough to run MS Word 98 - especially if you  are running
other stuff simultaneously.  Also, is OS9.0.4. the most stable system?
I seem to recall there were issues with this  version.  You might like
to turn Virtual Memory off  or on (reverse  the existing  setting) and
see what effect that has.

May I respectfully ask people to reply to  the list and  not to  cc me
direct. These are just my observations and I don't need a reply.
