I have a PowerBook G3 "Kanga" running OS 8.6. I only have dialup but now I have some opportunities to hook up to high-speed at work.
Never have used the ethernet port and I don't have the slightest idea of what I need to do. Everybody else there is using Gates stuff and can't help me. I searched my hard drive and came up with the disabled extensions "PowerBook Ethernet PCI" which came with the machine and it says is part of OS 8.0, "PowerBook 3400/G3 Ethernet" which it says is part of OS 8.1, and "Apple Enet 2.1.2" which it says is part of OS 8.6. I have no idea which of these I should use, what else I need to have in my system, and what I need to do to get a connection to a high-speed line. Any help appreciated.
