Thanks John... I have been busy, going on a trip next week, but will reply briefly.
I was backup-neglectful, and while I "lost" about a month of data, only 10 days or so was not on the server. I try to save 7-14 days when possible, but my ISP's often complain when their server is holding more than 50MB of mail. ;-) I downloaded the emailer script, will try it tonight. I often confuse Emailer Archive and Emessage Archiver, sorry. I have used the former, which mostly works on my database, but is a pain, and yours now, which I would like to make work, as the email interface is much superior. ;-) A question... It may be that all I can do is use Eudora to import email, try to clean it up as best as possible, then import it into Emessage Archive. If I do this, will eMA still be able to avoid message duplication if I use 3 or 4 databases, 2 old, 2 new? The old ones are mostly duplicated, the new are clean starts. ;-) I will try this weekend also, clean emailer databases with eMA, verifying that it is my database, not my system configuration, preventing it from working. One other note: I often have several copies of Emailer laying around. How can I be sure eMA is picking up the correct copy? Is there a way to force this? Is there a preferred place/order your scripts look? i.e, if emailer backups are kept on a separate volume to EMA, will it always find the "correct" emailer? thanks very much! MacCentral: One final Mac question. What made you decide to buy a Mac? John de Lancie: It was simple. When making the decision, I called a repair company that worked on the different platforms. A repairman said if I wanted to impress my friends, get an IBM, and if wanted to use it every day, get a Mac.
