True and most societies, it seems to me, at least give lip service to the 
idea of fair play for all - but someone quoted an American high school 
kid interviewed on 60 minutes to me recently and I think this may say it 
all re: the present mindset:

"I would feel cheated if I didn't cheat because the cheaters are winning"
