Chris is accurate, but you may also (for authenticated SMTP login) want
to get his Baton Mail (which handles the authentication process - needed
for outgoing mail only). Here's an example of how I have my SBCGlobal
account set up:
Account name: SBC <-- or whatever you want to call it
User name: First LastName <-- What you want shown to people
getting your emails
Email account: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
<-- notice the format with the % separator, as Chris
mentioned
Email password: PutWhatEverYourPasswordIsHere
SMTP Server: 127.0.0.1 <-- Use this IF you are using BatonMail
for outgoing
email authentication (which I think SBC
requires)
Email address: [EMAIL PROTECTED] <-- your reply-to address
Notice the Email address compared to the first part of Email account.
Also, if you use Baton Mail, set up an account this way:
Account (pull-down menu): Pick a name, or use Default, as I do.
Name: Give it a name (or again, use Default)
Mail from ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
SMTP Server: smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com
SMTP Port: 25 (the standard setting)
Auth. Type (check the SMTP radio button)
User Name: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Password: PutWhatEverYourPasswordIsHere
and click on Save (first time you set up the account).
HTH,
Jim Rohde
