I just checked, as of Norton AV 9.0, it at least is finally checking for 
PC viruses in the Mac version. If they are doing it, I'd guess the others 
are by now as well.

So at least in theory, you are protected from accidentally passing on an 
infected file. Now if that was on a probability in reality, then it might 
be more worth it.
