Final, I've just switched to Entourage to get my AOL mail. I used Emailer for the same reason as you - so I wouldn't have to sign on to AOL.
Entourage has a feature that supposedly lets you import your messages as well as your address book. I have only imported my address book and that worked fine. Since AOL has opened mail up you can now use Entourage for example to get your mail. It's pretty good so far though not as elegant as Emailer. It takes some getting used to but it does some things that Emailer would not. So far it's been working great, though.
