Hi Alex;

I am also still using 1.1v3 too. I despise most of the junk they
have the nerve to call email software these days. WAAAYYYY too much
junk all over most of it to suit my tastes. Here is what I did to
breathe new life into Claris Emailer. I did this about 3 years ago
and resolved a LOT of problems by this solution. (ever have a bunch
of mails just plain disappear?)

The short version is that I duplicated the application so all my
old stuff is kept in an archive that I can start up as needed. It
could even start up a second application copy at the same time if
I wanted.

The 'current' version (renamed with my email address) is kept
for recieving all mails 'recent'. I update my current copy once
or twice each year to 'clean it up'. The archive copy is simply
kept for older stuff that I don't need to look at all the time.
For ease of use, you could keep a copy of the 'current' version
on the desktop as well as keeping a copy of the 'archives' there
too for quick and easy eccess. You get the best of both worlds.

Some might object to my suggestion... so I won't post the long
version on list.

Anyone who really wants to read the long version can send an email
to my address with the subject

"C.E. Archive Maker"

typed EXACTLY and without quotes. My mail actions should bounce
you back the info neatly if we both have done things correctly.
Be forwarned... its a LONG document done in painstaking detail.
Doing its instructions are far less grief than creating the
document was.

I use 3 monitors and 'C.E. current' is kept on my left screen. If
I need a quick reference, I pop open the 'archive' on the right side
screen at the same time to grab info, close it, and carry on.

It works slick for me. Send a message off list if you want it.

Don
