A friend of mine's mother just got tired of sharing a computer with her husband so, at 75 years old, she pulled their old computer out of the attic and had my friend get it hooked into their Comcast cable modem service. The computer runs OS 9.1, with which she chooses to use Emailer. Still wise after all these years! Her problem, which is really my friend's problem, is that Emailer SENDS mail without any problem but it won't RECEIVE mail. I'm assuming that the problem is with what is entered in the Email Account line in the Internet Account Entry window. My friend has tried:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED]@mail.comcast.net [EMAIL PROTECTED]@pop.comcast.net [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] userid/[EMAIL PROTECTED] userid/[EMAIL PROTECTED] Because he is able to send mail without any problems, he and I both assume that all other setting are correct. It's just the Email Account setting, which interacts with the POP server, that we can't figure out. Comcast users are encouraged to please let me know what you are doing with that Email Account line, and whether it is possible, WITHOUT witchcraft, to receive Comcast mail. Many many thanks. ---Jay ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
