IMO any company who claims their broadband is "10 times faster than DSL" is lying, or you are misreading the ad. If they do say that, then do not give them your business unless they give you a 100% money back guarantee with credits to reconnect your old service. Considering most low-end DSL is 128K up, 1Mb down, they are claiming 1Mb up, 10Mb download? absurd.
