Hi: I recently upgraded from Earthlink dialup to Earthlink DSL service. This requires SMTP authorization and I have succeeded in setting up Chris' Baton Mail to handle this. Chris has suggested that it would be better to use the SMTP_Auth_Login. hack of CE 2 due to some bugs in Baton Mail. My only problem so far has been large attachments.
I have not been able to get SMTP_Auth_Login. to work on this system so I am hoping that there may be someone on the list that is using this hack with dsl service. Chris reports that it works for him so I must be doing something wrong here. I am using a dual G4 1.25 with OS X 10.3.8. Earthlink dsl service on a Verizon phone line. My account settings last used (I have tried a number of variations) are as follows: Account Name ---Earthlink2 User [EMAIL PROTECTED] Email [EMAIL PROTECTED] Email Password----my earthlink password SMTP Server----smtpauth.earthlink.net Email [EMAIL PROTECTED] This is the same as my default settings for Baton Mail (user name and smtp server). I would greatly appreciate any solution offered. For now I am using Thunderbird for large attachments but that messes up my mail database situation. S.
