You failed to quote the part from original message that staes. I'm *testing* PowerMail %-) > >;-) > >I'm just kidding, I know. > I have no clue how to configure PowerMail or I'd answer >your question rather then bust your chops. But I'm sure others here do >know how and will pipe up and tell you how. Another user supplied me with the powermail talk list, so I'll ask there. PM is interesting; you can see the programmers were influenced heavily by Emailer. Still they also took cues from Entourage and Mail, what with the 3-pane window (although a quick check of the pref shows you can change this). Also the manual is fairly good, but they default to the generic "contact your network administtor for what values to enter in certain fields". FYI, in addition to my 175 folders, DB stats scripts shows 32,541 message in my database. And my earliest in Emailer is dated 3/17/97. My issues with Emailer are that it is a Classic app. Classic must always launch before CE will run. Usually I sleep my powerbook rather than turning it off and often when waking from sleep Classic and CE are gone--just quit. I've not spent much time trying to trouble shoot this to determine where the problems is (Classic itself? probably. CE, probably not) because otherwise all the apps I use are OS X native. This mysterious vanishing of Classic/CE happens only about ten percent of the time I wake from sleep. But often CE, after waking, will do an incomplete check of my accounts. My standard comand-K checks mchsi.com, earthlink.net AOL, and mac.com. About 25% of the time after waking from sleep, CD will check only AOL. Logging out/in fixes this, but this means restarting classic. Of course it's been a year since I rebuilt the database, so I should do that. Also adding more memory (I'm running 10.3.8 on 512MB of RAM) couldn't hurt. As another user put it--I like PowerMail, but not the way I love Emailer. And if Chris hasn't been so darned helpful this past few years, I would have buggered off long ago. It was Chris who helped me configure my earthlink account set up many moons ago when earthlink changed its settings requiring me to insert the % symbol in my address > >-chris ><http://www.mythtech.net> berndt ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
