Skip the firewall software, and just go with a hardware solution. Unless 
you have highly sensitive data and REALLY REALLY need to be sure your 
network isn't compromised, just get a SoHo level firewall/router from 
your local office supply store or computer store. You should be able to 
pick up a wired one for around $50 and one that acts as a wireless access 
point for less (WAP ones are constantly on sale or rebates bringing their 
prices into the $10-$20 range). LinkSys, Netgear, DLink, Belkin all make 
inexpensive and fully capable units.

Software will just breed more headaches. Let the hardware take care of it 
and allow yourself to forget all about it.
