Yes! In a word: Panorama V This unique database/spreadsheet has been around for 20 years, made by the second oldest (after Microsoft) company making Mac programs, developed by a brilliant programmer Jim Rea, the owner of ProVUE. (The predecessor product name was OverVUE; both OverVUE and Panorama have won the MacWorld "Best of" awards.) The database is RAM-based and therefore is blindingly fast compared to the indexed, hard drive-based databases. It is very easy for the beginner to setup and make work, either from scratch or by using/modifying some canned examples. It has an extremely powerful, high end programming language built-in to make the program do just about anything one would want, too, but knowing this is not necessary for the low end user. Although it used to be Mac-only, it is now cross-platform. One can download a free demo which is fully functional up to 250 records and even after that it is still fully functional, except there is a game-like annoyance one has to "play" with more than 250 records to enable the "save" and "print" menus, until one has purchased the program. There is also an excellent usergroup listserve for asking questions, too, which greatly enhances the tech support. It also comes with exhaustive pdf file manuals, if one likes manuals. I've been using it for 20 years now, for keeping track of all sorts of things, all on low-end use, although there are some excellent high end packages developed out there available if one wants to see those, too.
