'Listers: In rooting around Apple's web site for the forthcoming OS X 10.4 I found a page <http://www.apple.com/macosx/tiger/spotlight.html> touting this new search feature. Apple lists all the supported formats on this page and while Mail is supported, Emailer, not unexpectedly, is not.
Chris, are Emailer's messages in a proprietary format? I know they can be exported. Anyway, this web pages notes that "....Data files from any application with a Spotlight plug-in" are supported. It will be interesting to see if Emailer will be supported by a plug in. FYI, Think Secret reports Apple will announce Tiger on 1 April (hmmm; interesting date %-)) and ship soon after.
