I'd check with Apple, if you just got the G5 a month or so ago, you may qualify for a free upgrade to Tiger. Regardless if it is free or not, you probably want to move to Tiger. Tiger is 64 bit aware, so it will actually use the G5 the way it was designed to be used, unlike Panther and earlier which are 32 bit OSes running on a 64 bit CPU in 32 bit emulation mode.
