The single click with command key has worked throughout the various
versions of Panther (10.3) and works fine in Tiger (10.4).

Is he command-clicking the urls?
Just a single click (not double-click) with the command key down ought to
do it.

Since 5 days approximately, my Claris emailer wont open html webpages
anymore when I click on the url that I received inside an email.

What could have happened ?
Where are this kind of preferences being stored by Emailer ?

I think this is set in the Internet control panel.

The only things I can think of are Internet settings are changed/wrong,
or Apples "Data detectors" went wrong, or were disabled by Extension
Manager.

A long, long time ago in a computer far far away, this once happened to
me. Heck if I can remember what I did to fix it. ;-)

I guess Gmail just wasn't meant to be on Emailer. (and no, I have no
plans to hack Emailer to use SSL, although IIRC, someone posted not too long ago about an add on to do SSL with any internet program... so maybe
it can be used)

What is needed is Eric Clements' SSL Enabler
<http://homepage.mac.com/iclements/SSLEnabler.html>, which installs and
provides a front end to stunnel <http://stunnel.darwinports.com/>. SSL
Enabler is no longer available on Eric Clements' web site but it can
still be found elsewhere
<http://www.swissdisk.com/support/how-to/macosx-volume-access.html>.

There was some discussion of this on the list in November 2003 - search
the list archive
<http://www.mail-archive.com/emailer-talk%40eskimo.com/> for "ssl
enabler" for more information.

Anyone one know of a way of specifying the position in which new message windows open? They always come up top left even though the browser window is inset to the right. I want to avoid the dock which I have on the left. Alternatively I'd settle for a hack to turn the dock off, as opposed to
hiding it (Dragthing I find greatly superior).
