>smtp.wanadoo.fr This one allows me to connect, but does not advertise authentication, nor does it accept blind attempts at it.
So that means, it very likely does not support SMTP Auth. Since it does accept an outside connection, either they are wide open (very doubtful) or they do IP authentication. I attempted to send an email via it (to test if they were wide open), but their time out is so low that I wasn't able to type the commands fast enough to do the test! It gives you about 2 seconds to send the mail commands before it drops the connection. I screwed it up twice, and now it simply refuses my connection attempt (it has banned me). >mail.libertysurf.fr This one doesn't even accept the connection attempt. It drops the connection as soon as I connect to it. So they are actively filtering connections to only certain people. That would fit with you saying you need to be connected to their network in order to use the server. -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
