Since we are off topic anyway, and a lot of queries about dsl and cable 
modems, thought I would share this disturbing link:

Essentially COMCAST wrote a unix root hack and put it in their internet 
install kit. And left it there, for anyone to take advantage of.

un-bleeping-believeable.

A reader added a comment that setuid scripts are disabled with 10.3.9 or 
later, but this still applies on Comcast installs before that date.

It is now possible to hack into an OS X system, as long as that user has 
a cable modem. thank you Comcast. I imagine there are other developers 
with similar stupidity, as yet undiscovered.

When you give your password on a system, you trust the developer of that 
software with your data-life.



Failure is not an option. It comes bundled with your Microsoft product.
