Hmmm, Interesting! I'm pretty sick of AOL myself too.

The best thing AOL has done for us Mac users lately is release the AOL
Service Assistant.

I personally have found that AOL mail is difficult to get via IMAP
using Apple Mail, Entourage & PowerMail. (Lockups are to be expected
when trying to that). So far, my limited testing says it's possible
that GyazMail might be better at AOL via IMAP.

The AOL Service Assistant enables you to set up the following Apple
applications to work with the AOL service:

 * Mail - The AOL Service Assistant makes it easy to configure Mac OS X
Mail to send and receive AOL mail. If you've used the existing AOL for
Mac OS X product, you can also import your incoming and outgoing
messages from your Personal Filing Cabinet into Mail.
 * iChat - You can now easily set up iChat to work with your Screen
Name.
 * Address Book - Using the AOL Service Assistant, you can now easily
import your AOL Address Book contacts into your Mac OS X Address Book
without bringing in duplicate entries.
 * Safari - AOL Service Assistant enables you to import your Favorite
Places into a folder in the Safari Bookmarks Bar.

What's new in this version:
AOL Service Assistant has been refreshed and enhanced. In addition to
the previous Mail, iChat and Address Book features, Favorites Transfer
is now enabled to allow you to access your AOL Favorite Places from
Safari's Bookmarks bar. And AOL Service Assistant allows you to copy
AOL e-mail saved in your Filing Cabinet to Mac OS X Mail for easy
access.

Requires Mac OSX 10.2 or higher.

Best,
