>mmm changed my mind they take 15%

Linspot wants a 15% cut?

Even though ZoneCD doesn't look like it handles payments (and I'd guess
it doesn't seeing as their web site is all about free hotspots), since
they do have timers to cut off users, and they do allow for
authentication... there is probably nothing stopping you from working in
your own sort of prepaid system.

I don't know to what degree you are planning on rolling this out. But if
it is just for a simple coffee shop type setup, you could charge people
at the counter, and put in a new passcode for them and mark how much time
they get. Then give them a card with that on it (you could probably just
preprint a bunch of cards so it looks somewhat official).

But this would probably only work for a small setup. If you are looking
to roll out on a larger scale, I think it would get out of control to
have people hunt down a cashier to buy time. On a large scale, you
probably want a way for someone to pay and authenticate right online so
they can just sit down, connect, pay, and start using it. In those cases,
you could probably modify ZoneCD (it is open source, but you will have to
know enough of linux and whatever it is written in to do so), or you
would want to go with a setup that allow for payments directly.
