I'd been using CE with 10.4.7 without any problems until about three weeks ago when I noticed some odd behavior from CE.
1) From the progress bar I could see that an attachment was arriving. However, when downloading finished, there were no new emails. I checked temp incoming which was empty and restarted emailer several times, but nothing arrived. In the downloads folder there were two new attachments Replacewithclipboard.sit and Replacewithclipboard-1.sit. I use this Applescript with Emailer, so thought they had come from this list somehow ? 2) Emailer now times out when downloading various large attachments, 2.5MB or larger. The rate of downloading goes down to what it would be on a dial up connection (I'm on ADSl), then stops completely until the time out log appears. As a control, I tried to get these emails/attachments with Mail.app which worked perfectly. 3) After subscribing online to a Tidbits notification list, I received an email from them asking me to reply to confirm my subscription. After doing so they would send me another email confirming my subscription. This didn't work - I did not receive the final confirmation email from them. They checked their logs and said my reply to confirm email had not arrived. I redid this process many times but to no avail. Again, tried it with Mail.app and it worked straightaway. The only things I've tried so far are to trash Emailer's preferences and to raise its memory allocation to 50000 KB. I'm at a loss as to what troubleshooting I can do. Classic starts up ok. I've checked the accounts setup and everything is correct. Since Mail.app is working ok, I am assuming there is a problem with Emailer. Any ideas of what might be wrong would be greatly appreciated.
