Any suggestions beside putting emailer in the washing machine at 95

Throw out the Emailer Prefs file, it contains the window settings.

There is nothing really important in that prefs file, so it is usually safe to trash. If you want to see what will be effected, go to the Setup menu -> Prefs. Everything in there is saved in the prefs file (that info, as well as window location, column positions, and open/closed status. Also it saves a flag to say if you have been thru the setup wizard the first time or not, so after trashing, it will want to walk you back thru that initial first run wizard, but since all the account info, connections, and schedules are saved elsewhere, it is safe to just click thru or exit out of the first run setup entirely).

If you don't want to trash the prefs as a first attack, then in the Setup -> Prefs there is an option for "save window positions" or something to that effect. You can try turning that off, save the prefs, quit, then start up again and see if the columns have been reset. But I don't think they will be, I'm pretty sure that prefs setting only saves where the window was on the screen, and if it was open or closed when you quit.
