Next time you see this examine the long headers and see if you can determine if the mails took the same route. The duplicate may NOT be happening at your mail server to CE interface but somewhere, anywhere, else in the transport of the mail from A to B.
Otherwise if the hanshaking between CE and tyour ISP's mail server is not working correctly duplicates can be created. I have suspected for a while that CE is TOO QUICK replying to the server with its "OK got that message" Mmmm TOO QUICK. Remember all these things are expected to happen in time "windows". My feeling is that this is NOT a CE issue but rather a mail server issue. I will be ahappy to be proved wrong however. Frameseer might be a good tool to solve this.
