Why?? There are thousands of used Macs out there. I'm thinking of

fine. At the moment my beige G3 MT with 300 MHz is quite sufficient...
Provided I don't get screwed on the shipping (anyone live near
Vancouver Washington?), I just bought a 700 MHz G4 eMac on eBay for
$150 last night. I didn't check the model number, but at that speed,
it is almost certainly one of the early ones that can dual boot into
OS 9 and X.
I see early model Clamshell iBooks selling on the LEM Swap list for
around the same price all the time.
So unless someone wants "brand new", there is no reason to be forced
to buy an Intel based Mac.
