You can try doing a rebuild and see if it helps.
I don't want to do anything precipitous which will make matters worse, if there is indeed a problem.
Thus the point of making back ups. Just stuff your entire Emailer folder and all its subfolders before you start doing anything. Then, should things end up worse than when you started, you can chuck the bad copy and unstuff yourself a copy from before you started messing with it.
