You guessed wrong. The version you quoted above is the P3 patch, which includes the SMTP Auth. So that version above is the SMTP Auth over port 587 version.

There is also a port 587 version that does not do SMTP Auth (at least I think there is).


So I could use some instruction in setting up to get my mail
out thru 587.

Sure, step 1: download the version you quoted above, step 2: use it instead of your regular version, step 3: there is no step 3 (said in my best Jeff Goldblum voice)
