My impression is that Office 2004 is slowly unravelling and Microsoft
have lost what little interest they had in supporting the Mac version
now that upgrade revenues loom. But do they? I am so fed up that I am
thinking of replacing it with iWork now that its wordprocessor has
joined the ranks of the respectable. Like the look of the spreadsheet
too, though no subsitute for Excel if high end functions are required -
but I don't need them.

One small example irritation: in Office 2004 Entourage's Tasks window
has a default size that occupies most of my screen real estate. There is
supposedly a
way to reduce it but it is not indicated in any Microsoft support venue
I have accessed, and in three years no one has been able to tell me what
it is. Of course there may well be a genius on this list who knows, in
which case be grateful to hear it.

Meanwhile Leopard's feature-bumped iCal promises even better To Do
Listing integrated with other Apple apps. So, another reason to
abandon Microsoft, especially as Apple's ability to open DOCX files is
apparently superior to Microsoft's flaky Open XML converter still
languishing in beta.

I don't even want to think about how many Office features will break in
the Leopard's paw because Microsoft ignored Apple guidelines. . . .
