Turns out that one of the last packages from Apple (one of the
security updates) disengaged the postfix installation from the outside
interfaces. So it still worked locally, but not from the rest of the
LAN. One little configuration (by a unix friend of mine) and it was
working again.
I still need to check out the smtp-auth Emailer, though. Looks like a
more streamlined solution.
