Mailsmith does color labels in much the same way eMailer did.  They even
have a setting called, "Use eMailer colors" in the prefs, for coloration of
quote levels.  

Mailsmith has an overhaul in beta testing right now.  I can't recommend the
current version for old, slow machines.  It sounds as if the overhaul will
speed things up.  But I haven't been beta testing, so I can't attest to
speed improvements myself.  I *do* like its feature set, which has
similarities to eMailer's
