Dear List friends,

     I've received an interesting Email from Earthlink who as you know 
are helping to resolve my problem with slow mail, or no mail!  Incoming 
has certainly slowed - whereas I usually received about 200 a day I now 
get from 4-10 or thereabouts.  More worrying is the delay in what I do 
get - often a day late.

     I have now received a note from the Technical Dept in Canada to say 
someone else is having the same problem - but that he is using Entourage 
- whereas I am using Safari (whether in mac or windows I don't know).  
This is what he says:

"Good morning, 

I had someone else getting similar email symptoms to you yesterday. The
difference was that they were having the trouble with Entourage rather 
than Claris. It turns out that the problem was caused by a bad password 
for
Earthlink stored in their Keychain. Once they cleared the password out of
the keychain and unchecked the 'save password' box in email, everything
started working perfectly - no more late messages or other craziness.

Thought I'd pass it on."

I found System Keychain through Spotlight - never having accessed it 
before.  It was headed pop.earthlink.net - the incoming address I use and 
it says it was modified 4/33/09.    

-Listed below are 9 items, 6 of which  mention the words "Internet 
Password" related to different addresses (but no internet password shown) 
.  I opened each one of them up and found under "Attributes":  Name; 
Kind; Account, Where, Comments and Show password" - the first 4 items 
filled in, nothing in the last 2 and but no password entered.

I have no idea whether it is correctly filled out for Claris and my 
Internet connection with Earthlink and Time Warner.  Can someone please 
tell me the purpose. and how it should read.
