Aha, that must be it! I'm doing the same 10.4.11 thing, but on DSL, and everything goes great. I can imagine that if I were back on dialup, my machine would cough, sputter, and give up on large files going up or down. Here, I'm still hanging on, now with a PowerBook G4 running 10.4.11 and 10.5.8, but most of the time in 10.4.11 which seems to love about 99% of the grand old apps including, of course, Emailer.
