     What exactly happened when it "suddenly failed" ?  Since writing 
below
I found everything - its all there, but not where I expected it to be - 
and the
folders havn't returned to my desktop.  That means I have to remember 
titles
to recover data which for me is difficult!  I can't help but think that 
it just requires
re-setting in some way - I just don't know how.  If anybody can help out 
there I'd most appreciate.

     I know it sounds dumb but I don't understand the Claris BU system.  
For example, the size of the Mail Database one year ago was 390.4 MB and 
the Index 61.2 and the Database size has not changed even though I've 
added a lot of data in the past year.  Does it not change?  \

     The other thing I don't understand is whether, when I BU,  it 
includes individual folders that have been filed?  The reason I ask is 
because I want to dump some folders after BU but not others!

     Would appreciate any help if there is still anyone out there!
