EMANE allows through shims or custom models the ability for users to add
additional content (appears to be prepended data rather than appended data in
the examples and in the source code), for example additional header
information, to the data plane traffic.

Is there any limit on the practical size of content that can be either
prepended or appended to what will be the OTA data traffic which is sent as UDP
frames to multicast address destinations?

Is this limit the 64K absolute for UDP frames (minus some EMANE overhead), or
is there a lower practical limit, or a limit which has benefits such as not
requiring any fragmentation or reassembly?

Since the user data is somewhat opaque to the layers, can additional data be
appended to the data plane traffic rather that prepended or does that upset
some requisite field alignment?
