*JOB DESCRIPTION:
*Java Developer / Performance Tuning Specialist AITS is looking for a java
developer who is specialized in the area of performance tuning large scale
java and Oracle based web applications. AITS is approaching the User
Acceptance and Training phases of the HR Front End project and would like to
utilize the services of a performance tuning specialist to assist with
troubleshooting and improving system performance as performance issues are
uncovered by testing. This position is available immediately and will likely
continue through the end of 2008. Mandatory skills
. Strong Java development experience building J2EE compliant apps
. Experience tuning J2EE web applications for performance
. Experience building JSP and Java servlets
. Strong Database Administration or development skills including tuning and
tracing queries in Oracle database environment (experience with 10G
preferred)
. Experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems including identifying,
monitoring, and diagnosing of system resource constraints
. Experience with XML and various XML editors
. Understanding of HTML
. Strong documentation skills
. Able to work well with a team of developers, analysts, and testers
. Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing requirements and priorities
. Ability to work alone after given direction
. Ability to train or communicate well with AITS staff and other consultants
for effective turnover and knowledge transfer of assignments
Preferred skills
. Experience doing packaging and deployments using ANT
. Experience with java / cpu / memory profiling software such as YourKit
. Use of version control systems such as CVS
. Experience with Application Servers especially Tomcat
. Experience with XML transforms using XSLT
. Ability to code using Java Script
Bonus skills
. Experience writing applications using AJAX / Web 2.0 techniques
. Experience with message based applications using JMS specifications
