*Must have:*
Ø Extensive experience with the following:
§ Develop and support databases in SQL Server,
§ Tuning and optimization of databases,
§ Database backup & recovery
§ Capacity planning and management
§ Troubleshooting and resolving database issues,
§ SSIS and DTS packages
§ log shipping and failover techniques, SQL Server clustering
§ Transact-SQL and Query development skills - Stored procedures, functions,
distributed queries, database scripting
Ø Demonstrated ability to respond quickly and effectively to support 24 X 7
requests from clients
Ø Proactive testing and application of service packs
Ø Knowledge of SQL Server 2000 and 2005
Ø Strong knowledge of windows operating systems and networks
Ø Microsoft SQL Server certification preferred
Ø Strong analytical and design skills
Ø Solid understanding of documentation and production support
Ø Solid communications and interpersonal skills
Ø Strong teamwork skills
*Nice to Have:*
- Familiarity with Quest Management Tools for SQL Server
- Knowledge of Oracle RDBMS will be a plus.
· 3 – 5 years Experience
- Project Management skills
- Experience with other databases (DB2 for LUW, SQL Server, and DB2 for
z/OS) welcomed
- 24/7 pager support on Rotational team
