Multiple sites in the Indian city of Mumbai were attacked with bombs and gunfire in a coordinated terror attack on November 26, 2008. On November 28, the death toll had risen to over 160, including at least 22 foreigners. Over 300 injuries have been reported. When the rampage began, gunmen opened fire at several locations throughout the city, including a crowded train station, a popular restaurant and several luxury hotels. The terrorists apparently sought victims with British or American passports. Indian commandos raided Nariman House, the center for Mumbai's Orthodox Jewish community, and the Hotel Oberoi on the morning of November 28, 2008, and the commandos have retaken those buildings.6 An ongoing battle continues at the Taj Hotel.
