*Project Overview**:  *Several Mainframe COBAL applications (e.g., Case
Management Systems, Batch Forms, etc.) are being migrated off of a Unisys
2200 mainframe to a web-based platform.  The new platform will consist of
Sun Solaris systems.  The migrated applications will be using WebSphere,
JAVA, Oracle, etc.



The database developer (DBD) will report to the Mainframe Migration (MFM)
Project Manager or their designee, for all project and/or production support
assistance assignments and will be responsible for the following services
including, but are not limited to:



A.     Work as DBD within the MFM project team to analyze, design, code,
test, schedule and deploy, debug and/or validate all vendor submitted
software component deliverables (i.e. UNIX scripts, PERL scripts, SQL,
stored procedures, data dictionaries, data models, etc.) by employing both
design/development/testing skills and performing quality reviews of all
deliverables.

B.     Design, develop and deploy databases and schemas related to this
program/project.

C.     Design, develop, test and deploy the JAVA applications that
correspond to the mainframe applications.

D.     Interface with Team for Texas and other migration groups to ensure a
continuity of batch runs, data loads, data synchs and/or communicate changes
to databases to maintain an integrated migration strategy.

E.      Production Support assistance for batch, scripts or database issues,
at the assignment or tasking of the PM of MFM, ensuring MFM priorities are
maintained as primary.

F.      Maintain configuration management (versioning, archive etc) over all
software component deliverables

G.     Other duties as assigned.

Experience with PL/SQL programming in Oracle.

Extensive experience designing packages, procedures and triggers in an
Oracle environment.

Experience in designing, developing, and deploying enterprise Database
architectures on an Oracle platform

SQL programming experience.  Knowledge of JDBC/ODBC interactions with
relational databases.

Strong ability to create, design, troubleshoot, read, understand  and debug
and optimize Oracle

based stored procedures

Experience in a user or customer interface support role involving
multi-tasking responsibilities.

Solid experience with data migration scripts and loads, data transformation,
data integrity processes.

Data modeling & data dictionary creation and generation experience with
tools like ERWin, PowerDesigner, Together J, Rationale Suite or other
related software tools.

Experience in Unix scripting and advanced PERL scripting for Oracle/Sybase
databases.

Experience in analyzing, designing and implementing the conversion of
existing legacy databases (Sybase, COBOL) to Oracle database environments.

Experience on projects involving creation and performance of rigorous test
scenarios, data validation and/or other quality assurance activities on
databases and data loads.

Experience in projects involving responsibilities to create and update SDLC
technical architecture documentation, design documentation, test plans, test
cases, and production turnover documentation.

Experience with CVS or other source code management tools.

Experience with Visio or an equivalent process modeling tool.
