Hi, Looking at the script that message is indeed misleading. It will happen if the script (in the case of Debian) can't find libgd.so. I don't have a Debian installation to hand but I believe the package you need to install is libgd2-dev (Debian users on this list will correct me if I'm wrong). Installing that package should pull in all other required dependencies for GD/PNG.
