I agree that this ought to be available on the CVS or linuxcnc site, as 
it can be useful
when contemplating major mods or when the compile breaks.  I don't know 
if it really
needs to be done automatically every time the farm recompiles, but if it 
doesn't take
too long, I guess that would be fine.

As for what's going on here, I am preparing to buy a pick and place 
machine for SMT
circuit boards.  This may be a bit of a distraction in the short term, 
but hopefully will
free me up in the long term.
