No, I don't see this happening for 2.2.6. Before a change can go into the stable version, it has to be in the development version and see some testing. For this requested feature, so far there's only a proposed patch that unconditionally changes the behavior, and as far as I know nobody's actually tested it. The inifile option has to be written, and then the whole thing has to be tested. Also, because this is hard to categorize as a "bug fix" it's a change that I'm generally more reluctant to make in a bug fix release like 2.2.6 will be.
