I don't remember where the idea came from originally - I think it was alex's - but I think it would be nice for a sample pyvcp panel to show all the home and limit switch inputs. This would help people with initial configuration.
The AXIS window shows when an axis is on a limit, but not which end. It does not show the home switch input, only whether an axis is homed. Ideally the sample panel would match the number of axes configured in stepconf, so if you have an XYZA machine you would end up with twelve little lights on the panel. I think this meets the goal of not duplicating existing AXIS functionality in a way that can confuse the user, and it shows a very important use of the panel: how it can show "extra" things that are going on in HAL.
